"Kalasääski" (Osprey), a simple hut and a new sauna building for about 6 persons, is located in the middle of Finland in the heart of Etelä-Konnevesi National park. Situated on Vääräsaari island the hut is surrounded by perfect possibilities e.g. for kayaking and canoeing. There are two sand beaches, rocky banks, beautiful nature and lots of quietness right outside of the hut.
The old building (37 m2) consists of one large room and smaller room. In the main room there is a kitchen corner, a dining table, rocking chair and simple wooden bunk bed for 4 persons. There is a fireplace for warming as well as a stove warmed up by wood. The kitchen corner is equipped with a gas stove as well and an electric fridge. The hut has solar power so you are able e.g. to charge you mobile phones.
In addition to the older hut there is now a new sauna building with splendid views on Lake Konnevesi. In this new sauna building is also bed for two persons.
The most convenient way to reach Kalasääski is to paddle there. Kayaks and canoes are available e.g. in KalajaRetkeily company kalajaretkeily.fi/fi/. We have also a few kayaks available.
