Activities
The Napakettu chalet is located in the middle of magnificant skiing area next to the national park. You are able to go for different activities right from the house door both in winter and summer.

Winter activities
The winter season often starts already in October/November. The long (330 km) well prepared cross country skiing track network enables long variable skiing trips.There are several cafes and many sheltered fireplaces along the tracks. The well-prepared track can be reached right from the Napakettu back yard. There are over 60 downhill slopes and 29 lifts in Ylläs area being the largest resort and having the slopes with the largest height difference in Finland. You are able to reach the slopes by ski bus (the nearest bus stop about 1 km from Napakettu). In Äkäslompolo there many other activities too e.g. riding, husky and reindeer safaris,ice fishing, snowshoeing (Napakettu can provide two pairs of snowshoes for the guests).

Summer activities
Also in summer time there are many activities available. Staying next to Pallas-Ylläs national park you can enjoy different outdoor acitivities like hiking, fishing,canoeing, riding, cycling etc in the beautiful nature. We have available e.g. Old Town 17 canoe if one likes canoeing.

Aurora Borealis
The half of the windows in upstairs are northwards and it's easy to watch the Aurora Borealis whenever they are visible.
